History
Today, YWCA New Britain is where women turn to join a dynamic community united by a passion for positive social change, racial justice, and economic empowerment. We work to speak out on behalf of women and girls and the issues they face today- racial, ethnic, and gender disparities; domestic violence and sexual assault; lack of after-school programs; and the urgency for job training in a struggling economy. In carrying out the mission of YWCA, programs are designed to address the root causes of poverty in the communities we serve, namely: financial illiteracy, births to teen moms, violence against women, and lack of access to affordable childcare. The YWCA contributes time, talent, tenacity, and financial support for the betterment of women. We are proud of our heritage and aware of our responsibility. You are invited to join YWCA New Britain as we work toward equality for all while empowering women to be all they can be. #OnAMission
