Windmill Restaurant has been a landmark in Stratford since 1934. The restaurant was named after the water pumping windmill that was on the farm across the street. Described by a longtime patron as "Stratford's answer to Cheers," the Windmill Restaurant has long been known by locals as a good place to get lunch or a hearty dinner and meet with friends. It is truly a homey place where everyone is welcome. In 1973, Rudy Weiss took over and added a little German flavor to the restaurant's Italian and American fare. The restaurant is now also well known for its kielbasa and bratwurst. Once you try the Windmill, you'll be a regular.
