The Waterford Youth Services Bureau, created in 1991, has three goals: increase the number and diversity of positive youth development programs, provide a coordinated means for the prevention of delinquency, and reduce the amount of drug and alcohol abuse among youth. The bureau runs a variety of programs for children ages 5 to 18, and offers counseling services to any child for free or reduced costs. Youth Services also runs the Waterford Alcohol and Drug Education (W.A.D.E.) program, which aims to reduce the amount of youth alcohol and drug use through education.
