The Waiting Station first opened in Short Beach in the 1890's. The restaurant moved to its cozy location at the center in the 1970's, at the spot formerly occupied by Jack's Place. The small, quaint dining rooms has walls covered with local art, old laminated newspaper articles about the Waiting Station and a large, black chalkboard with the daily specials etched in red, yellow and blue. The Waiting Station serves breakfast all day. It only accepts cash, but there is an ATM down the street.
