Founded in 1964, United Services is a private, nonprofit organization that offers more than 30 health care programs. The organization provides a variety of behavioral health care and family support services. It serves patients in over 20 towns in northeastern Connecticut. The organization provides addiction recovery outpatient, psychiatric consultation and social rehabilitation services. It also offers emergency assistance, school violence prevention and vocational rehabilitation programs. The organization works with municipal agencies, schools and social service programs. It operates a domestic violence shelter for women and their children. The organization serves the Latino community in Connecticut. It is a member agency of Advanced Behavioral Health. The organization serves as a designated Youth Service Bureau for the towns of Brooklyn, Canterbury, Killingly, Plainfield, Putnam, Sterling, Thompson and Woodstock in Connecticut. United Services manages a staff of nearly 250 professionals and paraprofessionals.
