DNE Technologies was founded in 1951 as Stelma, which specialized in the development of data and voice communications equipment. In 1969, Dataproducts Corporation, the largest independent computer printer company in the world, purchased the company. The company relocated to Wallingford, Conn., in 1977, and became Dataproducts New England. The company was sold in 1992 and became DNE Technologies. In July of 2004, Ultra Electronics, a group of specialist businesses that design, manufacture and support electronic and electromechanical systems, sub-systems and products for international defense and aerospace markets, acquired the company. DNE Technologies focuses on the design and development of communication and switched network access products. DNE's 70,000-square-foot facility allows research and development to work with design, engineering, production and field service to manufacture products for communication.
