This serves as the academic hub of the University of Connecticut College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and participates in the Master Gardener Program, the Center for Land Use Education and Research, Epiphany: Mentoring for Ex-offenders, the Connecticut Highlands Project, a USDA Forest Service program which to targets land with a possibilty of conservation and the Connecticut Forest Stewardship Program. There is also a seasonal community garden on site, which is used to educate children and adults.
