This popular Sandy Hook park is named after Timothy B. Treadwell, who served as first selectman of Newtown between 1968 and 1972. The park, which opens from 8am to 8pm, features four tennis courts, two regulation size artificial turf playing fields, a baseball/softball field, an eight-lane 25-yard pool that includes diving boards, two playgrounds, a pavilion and restroom facilities. Children younger than 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 or older.
