The Groton Emergency Communications Center is a public agency responsible for the answering and dispatching of nonemergency calls to the Town of Groton Police Department. It processes more than 100,000 telephone, medical, fire and police incident calls annually. Additionally, the center is responsible for the receipt and transmission of 911 emergency calls to the police department, fire agencies and emergency medical facilities. It monitors and tests burglar and fire alarm systems installed in local government facilities, schools and commercial establishments. The center also supervises a variety of weather and emergency warning and alert systems. It coordinates several educational and training programs for the general public. The Groton Emergency Communications Center is a part of the government of the Town of Groton in Connecticut.
