Established in 1801, the Round Hill Store is the oldest store of its kind in the area. Owners John and Robin Vanacore like to think of the place as a general store that sells a little bit of everything.
In addition to its deli, the store sells penny candy, fruits and vegetables, dried and canned goods, household items, flower and vegetable seeds and toys.
The Round Hill Store is really half store and half museum. Mr. Vanacore is a Lionel model train collector and dealer and also carries a large assortment of antique books, sheet music, games, toys and other trinkets from the past 200 years.
The couple claims to have the best coffee in town, blended locally to their specifications. They also sell Greek Ariston Olive Oil in easily refillable bottles.
Although secluded from the rest of Greenwich, the Round Hill Store has an incredibly tight-knit, community feel. Mr. Vanacore points out that they try to be good neighbors, often loaning out tools or staying open late to run store generators when the power goes out in town.
