About Owners Gary and Cathi Greenstein designed the concept of the store. Longtime collectors of antiques and artifacts, the Greensteins have always dreamed of opening a store that would appeal to both serious antique collectors and the first time homeowner looking to build an inventory of quality home furnishings. Our goal is to keep things fresh and constantly moving in and out. To meet this goal, we keep our prices low and turn the merchandise quickly. The inventory in the store ranges from new home furnishing accent pieces such as Italian ceramic pottery to collectable crystal chandeliers to 19th century French armoires. Approximately 50% of the merchandise is consignment pieces from some of the finest homes in the area. Many of the store owned items are restored, distressed or painted by Gary who has a talent for turning someone's trash into another person's treasure. Cathi is constantly traveling looking for unique and the most current home fashions. Although all of our stock is crisp, clean and ready to place in your home as soon as it leaves the store, the most fun about shopping at Madison Stock Exchange are the ideas you can come away with for re-working an old piece. We may take an old chair and cover it with new fabric or take a new, gently used piece and cover it with a vintage fabric to make it look old.
