The congregation of what is now the Wilton Presbyterian Church began as a group of just 11 members, who informally gathered in each other's homes for study, song and prayer. As this initially informal, small gathering gradually grew in structure and size, the group found a home at the American Legion Hall before moving first to Cider Mill School and finally to its current location at Parish Hall. Today's incarnation of the church has a Presbyterian credo, but also maintains relationships with other religious institutions and the community in general, through charities, focus projects, inter-faith services, and the "Joint Venture" with St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, with which Wilton Presbyterian shares a common facility, a church school, a youth ministry, and occasional joint worship services. Wilton Presbyterian Church emphasizes Christian education. In addition to the church school it runs with St. Matthew's, Wilton Presbyterian offers such programs as a Bible study group known as "Seekers," the more activity-focused "Bible Quest," a biblically themed class for "Tweens in Transition," and a musically themed class called "Joyful Noise." The church also offers educational and musical programs for adults who wish to enhance their spiritual experiences with the church.
