The Southbury Public Library contains a collection of 90,000 books and subscriptions to 130 newspapers and magazines. They host a variety of programs for the community, such as a weekly movie night and reading programs for both children and adults. There is free Wi-Fi in the library and access to public computers. The Southbury Library is part of the JobNow career service system. The library moved to its current location in 2006. There are volunteer opportunities for teens and adults.
Shirley Thorson is the Head Librarian. The library has no Saturday hours in the month of August, and no Sunday hours in the months of July and August.
