Founded in 2005, Sound Community Services was formed as a result of a merger between Integrated Behavioral Health and First Step. Sound Community Services offers case management, clinical services, employment, housing and social services to its consumers and the community. Its clinical services program provides treatment to more than 1,600 residents with mental illnesses and disorders and substance abuse disabilities. The facility teaches the skills needed to obtain and maintain employment. It also offers classes on budgeting, healthy meal selection and preparation, cleaning the home environment and positive interpersonal skills issues.
