A wonderful place to shop for your wine and beer, Village Wine & Spirits is located near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Main Street in Niantic. With over 1300 wines (about forty of them local Connecticut wines) and 250 beers (about 100 of which are micro brews), it is so much more than a package store. The shop holds wine tastings every Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 pm. They will open a bottle, or two, of something new, so that customers may have a taste. Joe and Lynn Kiah have owned the shop for a decade, but it is only in the last three years that they have taken over the running of it. Gift certificates are available.
