Saxe Middle School
Saxe Middle School is a part of the New Canaan Public Schools district. The school, located in New Canaan, Conn., was established in 1932. It provides academic education to students in grades five through eight and enrolls more than 1,200 students. The school s curriculum includes English, math, language arts, science and social studies. It also provides scholastic aptitude test and Connecticut academic performance test preparation programs. Saxe Middle School provides technology education that includes courses in architecture, journalism, engineering design and development, digital electronics and graphic communications. The school also provides physical and special education, and organizes summer school programs. It also provides basic courses in computer applications that include word processing, PowerPoint, MS Excel and access to the Internet. Additionally, the school has library and media center that provides online database, electronic books, referral sources, encyclopedias, dictionaries and audiovisual aids. The middle school organizes various extracurricular activities, such as arts, dance, music, theater, and offers student clubs and organizations. Saxe Middle School provides various sports activities, such as basketball, softball, bowling, football and volleyball.
