The Rockville Fish & Game Crystal Lake Club House is located at the South end of Crystal Lake in Ellington. It is a cottage that has bathrooms, a kitchen, a sitting area, a screened in porch, a picnic area, a dock and a rowboat for members to use. The club also rents out slips from its dock if one would prefer to use his or her own boat. There is also a place for paddlers to store their canoe. Ice fishing is becoming popular in the winter on Crystal Lake.
If you aren't interested in fishing, the club is right next to Sandy Beach where you can go take a dip on a hot summer day. The club is a good place for members to socialize and relax. There are also work parties and pot luck dinners throughout the season. Thursday nights are the active night, with something going on at almost any Rockville Fish & Game location.
The Crystal Lake Committee donated a canoe to the Snip Association for boating at Shenipsit Lake. The boat is for general use and now any of the boats at the Snip can be used by club members. A boat may be signed for at the boat shack. The boat user must bring oars, or electric motor and battery, and all other necessary equipment.
The Rockville Fish & Game Club was established in 1925 and is a member oriented and owned Sportsman's Club that is dedicated to outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, recreational shooting and archery.
