Praise, Power, and Prayer Christian School ( PPPCS ) is an outreach ministry of Praise, Power, and Prayer Temple ( PPPT ), a Christian church affiliated with the Independent Assemblies of God, International. Founded in 1986, PPPCS is a member of Association of Christian Schools, International. Its mission is to assist parents in their God-given responsibility to train up [ their ] child [ ren ] in the way [ they ] should go ( Proverbs 22: 6 ). The school is located in Windsor, Connecticut, just north of Hartford. Most of the 85 students in Kindergarten through grade twelve live in Hartford, Windsor, or Bloomfield. Currently ( school year 2007-2008 ), there are ninteen students enrolled in PPPCS High School, grades nine through twelve. The staff consists of six full-time teachers. While none of them currently hold state certification ( Connecticut does not require certification of private or parochial school faculties ), together they have over 40 years of experience in the teaching profession. Prior to 2007, the upper school ( grades 7 through 12 ) has been taught by Rev. Raymond J. McMahon, who also serves as principal of PPPCS and pastor of PPPT. Prior to his ministry at the church and school, Rev. McMahon taught in the West Hartford, Connecticut, public schools for eleven years. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Mathematics from Bates College and a Bachelor of Music Education from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. Students receive instruction in their academic courses ( mathematics, English, foreign languages, science, and social studies ) via video-taped classes through the A Beka Book Video School. These DVDs are produced at Pensacola Christian Academy by A Beka Book Publications, which also publishes PPPCS's entire K - 12 curriculum. In addition, students participate in physical education classes daily. They also attend daily chapel services, which include prayer, worship, and Bible study. We firmly believe that as believers in Christ He has given us the capacity to do all things through Him who strengthens us. We thank God that things great and small are included in such as statement of faith. Many students who come to Praise, Power, and Prayer find a curriculum unlike that of the schools they previously attended. It is a demanding curriculum, but one that is continuing to prepare our graduated to excel in college and in the professional world today.
