Portland United Methodist Church was built in 1865 and has been serving the community ever since. It is involved with Church World Service, meals at Saint Vincent de Paul in Middletown and offers food for shut-ins. The pastor is Al Grimm. The church also houses Linda's Sweet Memories Bakery.
