About PICC Reource Associates, LLC: We offer a variety of continuing educationvascular access training courses and programs for nurses and other health care professionals. Our course offerings include in-person workshops and self-study programs in: PICC line insertion, midline insertion, peripheral short IV insertion, central line care and maintenance, PICC line care and maintenance, and phlebotomy programs. In addition for groups we offer nursing consultant services including clinical contracting for preceptorship, and IV, PICC, or phlebotomy program development. Our programs are developed and taught utilizing industry standards and guidelines for PICC, IV and phlebotomy procedures set by U.S. and international organizations that ensure quality and safety in venous access. Class workshops are regularly scheduled classes within the state of Connecticut, and in addition we schedule onsite programs for client groups throughout the United States. Alice Cennamo RN, CRNI is the Founder and President of PICC Resource Associates, LLC. Alice became a registered nurse in 1992 after graduation from Norwalk Technical College of Connecticut 3rd in her nursing class with high honors. In 1996 to 1997 Alice first developed a love for IV nursing after joining the IV team/ high tech nursing division of her employer's home care agency. Since 1997 Alice has focused on the specialty of infusion nursing and has an extensive background in IV care with clinical and leadership experience in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked as a member and head of a hospital based PICC and IV Resource Team, and in hospital education as the Coordinator of IV and Phlebotomy Services charged with development and implementation of all IV and Phlebotomy related training and services. While training and working with clinicians in multiple settings ; Alice noted that there is a need and desire among many health care professionals for more in depth education in vascular access and IV therapy care. This prompted Alice Cennamo to start PICC Resource Associates in 2003. PICC Resource began with presenting training programs for individuals and facilities within Connecticut. In 2006 PICC Resource Associates expanded to offering onsite programs by contract for health care organizations and physicain offices throughout the U.S. In addition to heading operations, Alice works as our lead instructor, clinical consultant, and head of program development for most PICC Resource course offerings. She has been certified as a CRNI ( Infusion Nurse Specialist ) by the Infusion Nurses Certification Corporation ( more about CRNIsclick here ), and certified as a Phlebotomy Instructor by the National Phlebotomy Association. Alice is an active member of the national Infusion Nurses Society ( INS ), the Association of Vascular Access, the League of Intravenous Therapy Education, the Connecticut League for Nursing, the National Nurses in Business Association, and a past President, Membership Chairperson, and Board of Directors member of the INS Connecticut Chapter.
