The Orange Police Department serves the community 24/7 with 43 sworn officers and 12 civilian employees. Chief Robert Gagne oversees the men and women of the department, with Assistant Chief Edward Koether.
Orange police officers are the town's first responders and are trained Medical Response Technicians (MRTs) or Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).
The Orange police run an annual Citizen's Police Academy to educate residents on the behind-the-scenes workings of the department. Its members also work with the Woodbridge Police on Drunken Driving checkpoints and other regional law enforcement community assignments.
