Located in the Hayden Station section of Windsor, Oliver Ellsworth Elementary School is the town's largest public elementary school. The school has more than 400 students and provides them with various scholastic programs and a 10,000-volume library. The school is also equipped with a networked computer lab and athletic fields. Oliver Ellsworth hosts a semi-annual book fair and a Family Fun Night and has a student-run school store. The school is named for the third chief justice of the United States Supreme Court, who was born in Windsor.
