The tax collector is an official appointed by the First Selectman. The tax collector office sends out bills for motor vehicle, personal property and real estate taxes at the end of June of each year, and is responsible for collecting the money.
Taxes are due within a month of the due date and can be paid by phone or on the web, which also includes a 3-percent fee.
Discounts are available to homeowners 65 years or older.
