The New England Society of Information and Technology, commonly referred to as NESIT, is an independent, non-profit corporation that provides physical gathering spaces for presentations, lectures and workshops for collaborative and educational projects. NESIT endeavors to "create, educate and foster learning in the fields of computer, information and communications technology, while exploring the benefits of productivity through volunteer collaboration.” The company is modeled after collaboratively run organizations such as Noisebridge of San Francisco and NYC Resistor of Brooklyn.
