While the Naugatuck Congregational Church has been a member of the United Church of Christ since 1961, its history in the borough stretches back much further. Founded as the Ecclesiastical Society in 1773, the first church group gathered in 1781. Today, this parish holds regular Sunday worship services at 8:30am and 10:15am. It also is involved in the community, partaking in charitable activities such as New Beginnings and the borough's Ecumenical Food Bank. Church members also participate in a variety of outreach ministries, including international trips to conduct mission work in third world countries.
