Mount Olive Day Care Programs are composed of one infant program, three toddler programs, three pre-school programs, two all-day kindergarten programs and two summer programs. Based in Hartford, Conn., the center is a federally funded, nonprofit organization, governed by the State Department of Social Services, and in operation since 1970. The purpose of the program is to provide comprehensive, quality day care to children and their families. Most of the centers are nationally accredited or are in the process of becoming accredited. The program is based on the philosophy that children are unique individuals. Mount Olive Day Care recognizes the fact that each child in its program has distinct likes, dislikes; each has different family and cultural backgrounds, as well as distinct patterns and capabilities. Its primary concern is that it meets the child at his or her developmental level.
