Tucked behind Leonce antiques and consignments on Post Road, Asia Imperial offers unique gifts and home decor from Shanghai, Xian and Beijing. As you enter the shop, life size terra cotta soldiers greet you as you walk through the door. These figures, made in Xian, are replicas of the warriors and horses of the Qin Dynasty unearthed in 1974. The replicas are made using the same soil and heating techniques that were used 2,000 years ago. The shop is also filled with a variety of antiques that comprise about 85% of the merchandise. You'll also find a selection of handbags by artist Na Winn. Winn specializes in Urushi work, a technique that uses the sap of the Urishi trees to create a highly lacquered finish. Her one-of-a-kind creations take their inspiration from nature. Located in the back of the store is a small gallery filled with paintings, folding screens, wall murals and collectible boxes.
