Mary E. Griswold Elementary School, named after a former school district superintendent, offers classes in grades kindergarten through five and is located in Berlin, Conn. Founded in 1964, the elementary school enrolls more than 600 students and provides experiences which enable them to meet academic and social challenges. The subjects in elementary school include math, science, language arts and social studies. Students visit the computer lab every week, along with their teachers, to work on various projects. The school maintains a partnership with parents for extracurricular, social and educational activities through its monthly parents club meetings. It has been selected as a National Blue Ribbon School.
