As one of Naugatuck's newer schools, Maple Hill Elementary School opened in September of 1989. The school has 19 classroom teachers including two non-graded special education classes. Kindergartners through fourth-graders are taught math, science, social studies and English among other subjects. Staff are trained in administering tests, and every member serves on a committee that enables Maple Hill School to develop and implement school policies. The school's motto is "Nurturing the growth of tomorrow's leaders."
