The Madison Land Conservation Trust is one of the first land trusts in the United States. It was established in 1964. The land trust's mission is to foster and promote the benefits of preserving natural resources to the public. Such resources include marshland, woodland, swamps and open spaces, as well as animal and plant life. The MLCT hosts events that are open to the public year-round, including frequent hiking trips. Visit the MLCT's website for information on upcoming events and a registration form for parties interested in becoming members of the trust.
