History
The Martin Luther Orphans Home at Brook Farm in West Roxbury, Mass., was founded in 1872. It was the first program of Lutheran Social Services in New England. 140+ years later, LSS Adoption program continues the tradition of building families through adoption with its adoption programs serving families in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

When your family begins the adoption process, LSS provides pre-adoptive parents expert guidance through the options, as well as the ups and the downs of identifying that special child for your family. LSS prepares your family for the arrival of your adoptive child. LSS is also available to your family after your child is home through the LSS Post-Adoption Resource Center, which offers classes, groups, and individual counseling upon request - because adoption is a life-long process.
