In the spring of 2011, Jerry Choinski and Etkin Tekin were finishing their junior years at Yale University living off campus. Spending the year off of the meal plan and resorting to unhealthy takeout every day, Jerry and Etkin grew tired of the food options and realized the need for a healthy place to eat in the area. Sure, there are places to get a healthy meal, but not in a hurry and not at a price you'd like to pay for it. The two fraternity brothers and alumni of the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute came up with an idea for a salad shop in downtown New Haven. Tiffany Ho, a fellow YEI alum, serial entrepreneur, and great friend of Jerry and Etkin, joined to round out the founding team. With that, The Little Salad Shop was born! The summer of 2011 was the summer of The Little Salad Shop for the team.
