The nonprofit medical clinic provides free health care to adults who are uninsured, underinsured or have limited financial resources.
The clinic was founded in 2002 by Dr. Z. Michael Taweh and his wife in the memory of their son, Kevin. The nonprofit has clocked nearly 2,500 patient visits and $2 million in free medical services.
Having received a $500,000 from the state Department of Social Services, the clinic is planning to renovate a building at the former Fairfield Hills Hospital site for use as its new home.
