In Kell-Strom Tool Company s early history, the coming began to specialize as a manufacturer of service tools for aircraft. In 1965, the company was licensed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of Canada to manufacture and sell service tools to support the PT6 engine that was developed by the Canadian company. From there, Kell-Strom took off and developed an entire family of turboprops and turbofan engines to serve regional and corporate aviation markets. The company currently manufactures, markets and inventories tooling for the support of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. It also has similar licensing agreements with other aviation companies, such as Honeywell Aerospace, Champion Spark Plug, Haynes Diesel, Precision Airmotive, Teledyne Motors and is involved in a joint venture with DCN International.
