Julian Curtiss became Greenwich's third MAGNET school in 2003 and offers students in kindergarten through fifth grade the opportunity to study French or Spanish.
Julian Curtiss is a neighborhood school with a familial atmosphere, according to its Web site. The school, which is part of the Greenwich public school system, has a cross section of socioeconomic groups and is international in character. About 340 students attend.
The school is named after Julian Wheeler Curtiss, who had great interest in community life and was the first president of the Greenwich YMCA. He also served on town and state boards of education.
