Irving A. Robbins Middle School serves about 670 students in grades 7 and 8 under the direction of Principal Kelly Lyman. The school aims to help students adjust as they transition from childhood toward adolescence by using team teaching.
At this level, foreign languages, applied physics and engineering, health, wellness, physical education, and family and consumer science are introduced into the curriculum; Latin is offered as an elective. Test scores remain high at the middle school and tend to increase from seventh to eighth grade. Many of Robbins' teachers are award-winning or state-recognized for excellence.
