Hartford Performs is an arts education collaborative that brings visiting artists into Hartford Public Schools to teach curriculum in creative new ways and provides professional-learning programs for teachers to integrate art techniques in their classrooms. With a mission to help kids learn and develop, Hartford Performs benefits over 10,000 students in all 31 PreK-Grade 8 public schools in the city each year.
Through their programs, students have the opportunity to experience professional dance, music, theater, and museums, gaining a deeper understanding of their academic subjects and fostering a new enthusiasm for learning. Hartford Performs also offers grants and resources for educators and arts providers, as well as community sites to see, contests, scholarships, and a photo and video gallery showcasing their impactful work.
