Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter

The Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter serves Branford and North Branford by offering animal rescue and adoption services, as well as a number of programs and services aimed at educating and supporting pet owners. A current listing of animals up for adoption is available on the shelter's website. The shelter is located behind the Town of Branford's transfer station, where it welcomes volunteers and monetary donations.

Cheshire Animal Control

Supervised by the town's police department, the animal shelter is able to house up to 18 dogs. A fenced area for exercise was built by volunteers who also try to place the dogs in adoptive homes. The shelter is staffed by one full-time and one part-time animal control officer. It does not accept cats. The shelter is located next to the police department.
