Founded in 1989, The Governor's Prevention Partnership a nonprofit partnership between the state government and business leaders with a mission to keep Connecticut's youths safe, successful and drug free. It provides services for schools, communities, youth organizations, colleges and businesses. The partnership helps local communities to build coalitions and programs to address underage drinking. The Governor's Prevention Partnership also helps schools to develop and implement effective drug and violence prevention programs, including student assistance, bullying, conflict resolution and peer mediation. In addition, it assists colleges and universities to address issues and behavior related to alcohol abuse. The partnership also provides skills for parents to protect children against drug-related problems. The Governor's Prevention Partnership works with local, regional and statewide providers to maximize youth development programming without duplicating services. It has partnerships with Webster, Fuel Tech, Farmington Savings Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, The United Illuminating Company and Children's Trust Fund. The Governor's Prevention Partnership is located in Hartford, Conn.
