The Farmington Police Force, headed by Chief Paul J. Melanson, has forty-four officers patrolling Farmington and overseeing special projects. Youth Officer Sue DiVenere works with the town's youth, forming relationships and steering kids away from trouble. Joseph Capodiferro is a trained canine officer.
Farmington officers use cruisers, unmarked cars, bicycles and ATVs to fight crime on-road and off, as well as at the Westfarms mall.
Farmington police are also noted for cracking down on intoxicated driving, finding and prosecuting pedophiles and keeping our town safe.
