History
East Street Arts, a social enterprise of Marrakech, Inc. originally started as Association of Artisans to Cane (AAC) in Dwight Hall at Yale University for people with mental illness in 1988. In 1992, Marrakech, Inc. was asked to take over the program and move it into its current location. In late 2015 and with the official Grand Opening May 6, 2016, the building was expanded to be called East Street Arts and now houses the caning studio, an art studio and a gift shop.
