Avon Volunteer Fire Department Company One is the administrative headquarters for the four fire stations in Avon. It was established in 1973 and is stationed at 25 Darling Drive. One full-time and one part-time employee work at the headquarters and are assisted by volunteers. The primary role of the fire department administration is working with computer software, as well as recording members' attendance at fire calls, participating in training sessions and meetings, keeping inventories of fire gear, equipment and apparatus, recoring regulations and meeting minutes and preparing the necessary date to meet town, state and federal regulations.
