History
Started by a group of progressive Catholics and Protestants, CCA initially focused on providing short-term emergency housing to families that were homeless. Over the years, the mission has expanded to working with families, via education, workforce preparation and other services, in their own efforts to regain and maintain their independence. Our food pantry opened in the early 1970s, followed by Stepping Stone Transitional Housing Program in 1998. We are now working to develop a new program, called ARISE, which which, in collaboration with other agencies, will help famililes, formerly homeless, from becoming homeless once again.
