The Child Guidance Center of Greater Bridgeport, Conn., was founded in 1925 to provide for the emotional and psychological welfare of children and their families living in the area. The center offers a wide range of outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling services for children under the age of 18, as well as a variety of in-home supportive services to their families. The center operates three outpatient clinics located in Bridgeport, Stratford and Fairfield, Conn., in addition to offering services from a number of community agencies throughout Bridgeport. Its services are available in both English and Spanish. The Child Guidance Center of Greater Bridgeport is a member agency of the Eastern Fairfield County United Way and receives funding from the Department of Children and Families, Department of Social Services, Department of Public Health, City of Bridgeport, Corporation for National and Community Services, Save the Children and other private foundations.
