Based in the Gales Ferry Community Center building, the Academy of St. Therese is a very small, private K-8 school committed to teaching and living the Catholic faith while achieving high moral and academic standards. Founded in 2005, the academy enrolls about a dozen students. Mary A. Brundage is the principal of the academy. The school's core values include "The Life of the Mind, Moral Choices, and Helping Our Neighbor." These values are integrated throughout the curriculum. The academy asserts that study of "violin and Latin are as much a part of the curriculum as reading and math."
