A Child's Garden, open to infants through children who are 5 years old, leases space in a town-owned building at 100 Mona Terrace that also includes the Fairfield Senior Center and which was formerly the home of Oldfield School, a public elementary school that closed in 1981.

Activities include arts and crafts, costumes, computers, day trips, filmstrips, free play, games, gross motor equipment, manipulative toys, a music period, nature study, outdoor play, play apparatus, puppets, puzzles, a rest period, snack, story hour, tape recorder/players and video/film.
A Child's Garden has a parents association and parent conferences, and parents may visit at any time.
Fees in 2010 are $346 weekly for infants through children 2 years old who attend full time; and $272 weekly for pre-schoolers who attend full time.
A Child's Garden also offers summer camp for children up to 10 years of age.
