WilliamChambers, MD, FACS, was born in Flint, Michigan and was raised in Mount Pleasant, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Texas A&M University and attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he received the Hudson Penn Award for surgical excellence. He served his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas, Parkland where he was chief resident in 1986-87. He was a Vascular Fellow in 1987-88 at the Baylor Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. He has been practicing surgery continuously in Colorado Springs since 1988.Dr. Chambers is an active member of numerous surgical and vascular professional societies, regionally and nationally. He has served on many hospital committees and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has received the prestigious honor of being voted the "Top Doctor" in his field of Vascular Surgery as published in the Colorado Springs Business Journal and Colorado Springs Style Magazine. Dr. Chambers spent 15 years on the Penrose St. Francis Hospital Board of Trustees. He has also served as Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff, Chief of Credentialing at Penrose-St. Francis Hospitals, voted one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation this year.Dr. Chambers and his wife, Cathy, enjoy all the Colorado activities. They have a son, David.
