The National Center for Atmospheric Research is managed by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research and sponsored by the National Science Foundation. The National Center for Atmospheric Research provides the university science and teaching communities with the tools, facilities and supports required to research and improve human understanding of atmospheric and earth system processes. The center offers scientists with high-performance computational and observational facilities, such as supercomputers, aircrafts and radars. In partnership with university scientists, it conducts research in climate, atmospheric chemistry, cloud physics and storms, weather hazards to aviation, and interactions between the sun and Earth. The center aims at finding out the role of humans in creating climate change and responding to severe weather occurrences. The National Center for Atmospheric Research is located in Boulder, Colo.
