The Montrose Police Department is a law enforcement agency that provides 24-hour emergency, criminal and traffic enforcement and crime prevention services. The department is comprised of more than 40 sworn officers and over 10 civilian employees that provides services in the administrative, patrol, investigations and records divisions. It maintains a records division that manages and processes department reports, requests, permits, registrations and identification documents. The department operates a traffic unit that is responsible for managing traffic. In addition, it maintains a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team that specializes in bomb disposal and hostage and barricaded gunman situations. The Montrose Police Department is located in Montrose, Colo.
