HistoryThe Root was started in 1998 and has been owned and operated for the past 13 years on the Hill in Boulder, CO. Originally, the Root was affiliated with the Root Underground-the only after hours club in Boulder with hip-hop and edm shows and events-with some of the most memorable being The Underground Freakshow, 5 Feet of Foam, The Astrology Series, and Underground Fridays. In October of 2010, The Roots building was demolished to put up student condos and the store moved only 1/2 a block from it's original location. Here we continue to provide Boulder with the hottest clothing brands for men and women, a great selection of art supplies for urban artists, beautiful locally blown glass, and so much more!SpecialtiesThe Root specializes in men's and women's clothing labels such as Akomplice, Upper Playground, So Gnar, Kid Robot, LRG, Luxirie, OBEY, B Fresh, Isvera, Grass Roots California, Bboy/Bgirl wear and accessories, UFO, and many more!
